| Slight delays |
30th of September 2007 |
Things are going very slowly at the moment and my promise of SNET being up and ready by the end of September seems to be all but lies. It has been a very busy few weeks for me with work and moving house. My lovely ISP has been very helpful in delaying SNET also by stuffing up my internet.
Anyways, I am on days off now and the time I have had in the last few weeks I have been developing the members section of SNET, which is now finished. I was having difficulty with my Settlers Net SMTP, but have sorted that out now.
Bare with me for a bit longer, things should begin falling in to place quickly. Again I ask, if anyone is willing to help, please send me an email with your skills with HTML/PHP, application/game programming abilities you have if any, photoshop experience, whatever. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

| Assistance required |
05th of September 2007 |
I am looking for motivated Settlers players to assist in the operation of SNET. Due to my work commitments, I am only able to update the site a few times a week rather than more regularly. Basically I am seeking someone to help with news posts; seeking news subjects that are of interest and related to the Settlers series as well as liasing with other fansites.
I am also after a few well respected and sensible people to moderate the forums that will be up shortly.
Any assistance that can be provided will be greatly appreciated. If there is an area of SNET you would like to work on or help out with other than forums and news posting etc, I am also interested in hearing from you.

| Welcome to the Settlers Network |
05th of September 2007 |
As you may have noticed, we have been gone a long time, but after returning to the Settlers gaming scene and realising that the number of fansites has diminished since the last time we were here, we thought we\'d make a come back, this time bigger and better.
The reason behind the return is to try and reestablish the Settlers community that was once so very strong. We aim to bring other fansites together, share information and resources freely so that visitors don\'t have to venture the entire world wide web looking for the information or service they require. Below I will list a few of the services we will provide:
- SNET Map Center: The Settlers Network map center will provide mapmakers a means of publishing their works. Be it a map for Settlers II or S:HoK, we will host it and make it available to the public with an image, description and allow users to vote on the map to rank in the Map of the Week. For users looking to download maps, the SNET:MC will allow you to view all maps for each individual game in the series; view them by author, gametype (2 vs 2, 1 vs 1 etc), by popularity, be it votes or total downloads or display all. This section is our primary goal and work on the section is underway now.
-SNET Forums: SNET forums will provide a base for players to come together and discuss the Settlers by series or just general chit chat. We hope by trying to bring together players to a central point (SNET) and providing all the information they need on all titles in the series, we may then start to see fan input on how this site is run, what information is shown, sections we should have and then hopefully prove to people that this site, Settlers.net, is a community site for the community, not just ours.
- Information and downloads for each game: Originally SNET was known as the best place to get Settlers information. We originaly had sections to help the new player get into the game and stick with it, rather than give up because he didn\'t get it. We had detailed explainations of each game, the new features between each Settlers release as well as downloads for the games, whether it be desktop pictures or patches. This will be back. Expect to see in depth articles for each game in the series, patches and newbie help sections. Eventually, I'd love to see users submit articles, their methods to success in game etc.
I will leave it at that for now. Settlers Net will return bigger and stronger this month. I promise. Posted by: Ashman |
